Ronel Human is a Cape Town based artist working from
her studio in Simon's Town. She graduated cum laude
with a degree in Graphic Design in 2002 before spending
many years in the design industry. Drawn by a deep
curiosity about human behaviour and our relationship
with the world around us, she later pursued Psychology,
completing her Honours degree cum laude in 2025.
Working primarily in oil, Human creates contemplative
paintings that explore the interconnectedness between
people and the natural environment. Through indigenous
flora and familiar South African landscapes, her paintings
explore the thread between our psyche and natural
spaces, reflecting on our innate connection to the
environments that shape us.
Human has participated in numerous group exhibitions
and presented her debut solo exhibition, A Deep Sense of
Belonging, at 11 On Windsor Studio in Kalk Bay in 2026.
